FOR SALE: Porsche 914 w/ Honda F20C - Type R Outlaw Build $29.9k

Built over the past 15 years and turned out great. Not much I would change. Enjoy as is or keep improving. Original engine mounts still in place if you ever wanted to go back, but doubt you would. Selling to downsize for retirement. Can include a nice collection of spare parts as this will be my last 914. Will keep working on improved videos. Pictures on request. Planning to list on  Bringatrailer in the summer.

Dangerously fast from 6500 to 9000 rpm with 240hp @ 8300 rpm, 8900 rpm red line - similar power band to a factory GT 2.0 rated at 210 hp @ 8000rpm. Reminds me a lot of a 2.2S six I had in the 80's, but faster. Power delivery is exhilarating! Must drive to appreciate. Sounds awesome.

Never undercoated Southern California car. Nearly Rust free with the exception of an overlay in the hell hole.  Longitudinal, floors and all body panels are original as I choose a clean chassis. Painted Wimbledon White (originally red), for the R theme. Reinforced Inner rear suspension ears (common failure area). Smoothed Black top. Rocker panels are steel (new fiberglass included)

Bone Stock F20C mated to a 901 side shift transmission via Kennedy Adapter. GT style without flares. Goal was to retain 914 look and feel. Original intent was track oriented but switched to street. Never been tracked so the suspension is untested, but the current setup should understeer.

Next steps on my list: Boxster front calipers, Carpeting, Removal of engine mounts for weight saving and cleaner look, Add a decorative top tube where I cut the thin upper portion (non structural) of the trunk upper bulk head, Hidden kill switch, reinstall Interior A pillar trim, change wheel color to yellow.

Build:

Original wiring harness was replaced with an 8 circuit kit from Painless Performance (2 unused circuits remain) Keyless push button start, GT style master battery switch.  Functioning brake lights, parking lights, driving lights and head lights (requires manual cycling to raise them). No interior lighting or turn signals yet.

Gauges - Tach, water temp, oil pressure light, Fuel level, Battery Voltage

Powertrain:

Healthy F20C from a 2001 S2000 with around 50k miles when pulled. AC Delete kit, Stock ECU and live OBD2 port. Cone K&N air filter

Mounted using Maddog's firewall mount. 

Kenedy Engineering adapter & flywheel. Stock 914 Clutch and pressure plate.

Refreshed 901 side shift with shortened 3rd (flipped 5th) and S 4th. Stock 5th.  New synchro's. Stock shifter and linkage.

F20C stock header with Dual chamber muffler,2.5 inch tubing. No CAT

Firewall access (lexan and steel covers)

Stainless fuel lines in the tunnel

Suspension&Brakes:

87 Carrera Front Suspension and brakes (25 mm rotors), Stock pads. No parking brake.

New master cylinder (19mm), SS brake lines, No Proportioning valve. 

F/R Bilstein dampers, Ground control sleeves w/ 150 lb/in ERS.

Rear poly trailing arm bushings, Front is still rubber.

Stock 15 mm front sway bar

Rear fenders slightly rolled

Real 15x7 Fuchs w/ Nitto NT05 205/50-15, metal valve stems

Rear hubs drilled to 5 lug (early 70-72 embossed version), OEM Studs

986 spare & jack

Front Tow bar with receiver.
