FOR SALE: 914 TYPE R Build w/ Honda F20C

Built over the past 15 years and turned out great. Not much I would change. Enjoy as is or keep improving. Original engine mounts still in place if you ever wanted to go back to a type 4, but doubt you would. Selling to simplify for retirement. Can include a large collection of spare parts. Will keep working at making better videos (without wind noise and also drive byes).  Pictures on request. Car draws alot of attention.

Non Undercoated Southern California car. Pretty close to Rust free except for some overlays in the hell hole.  Longitudinals, floors and all sheet metal is completely original as I carefully choose a good chassis. Painted it Wimbledon White (originally red), for the R theme. Reinforced Inner rear suspension ears (common failure area). Smoothed Black top. Rocker panels are steel (new fiberglass set included)

Stock F20C mated to the original 901 side shift transmission using a Kennedy Adapter. GT style without flares. Goal was to retain original 914 style and feel. Original intent was track oriented but switched it to street. Never been tracked so the current suspension setup is untested at the limits, but I started with a safe setup for understeer.

Dangerously fast from 6500 to 9000 rpm with 240hp @ 8300 rpm, 8900 rpm red line.  (similar power delivery to a real GT's 2.0 rated at 210 hp @ 8000rpm). Reminds me of a 2.2S six conversion I did in the 80's, but faster.

Next steps that were on my list: Boxster front calipers, Full Carpeted interior, Removal of stock engine mounts for weight saving and cleaner look, Add a decorative top tube where I cut the thin upper portion of the trunk bulk head, Hidden kill switches, Interior A pillar trim, JDM style wheels for the Type R theme (TE-37 or Spoon style)

Build:

Original wiring harness was replaced with an 8 circuit kit from Painless Performance (2 unused circuits remain) Keyless push button start, GT style master battery switch.  Functioning brake lights, parking lights, driving lights and head lights (requires manual cycling to raise them). No interior lighting or turn signals yet.

Gauges - Tach, water temp, oil pressure light, Fuel level, Battery Voltage

Powertrain:

Healthy bone Stock F20C from a 2001 S2000  with approx 50k miles when pulled from donor car. AC Delete, Stock ECU and live OBD2 port. 

Maddog firewall mount. 

Kenedy Engineering adapter / flywheel. Stock 914 Clutch and pressure plate.

Refreshed 901 side shift with shortened 3rd (flipped 5th) and S 4th. Stock 5th.  New synchro's. Stock shifter and linkage.

F20C stock header with Dual chamber muffler. No CAT

Firewall access (lexan and steel covers)

Stainless fuel lines in the tunnel

Suspension&Brakes:

87 Carrera Front Suspension and brakes (25 mm rotors), Stock pads. No parking brake.

New master cylinder (19mm), SS brake lines, No Proportioning valve. 

F/R Bilstein dampers, Ground control sleeves w/ 150 lb/in ERS.

Rear poly trailing arm bushings, Front is rubber.

Stock 15 mm front sway bar

Rear fenders slightly rolled

Real 15x7 Fuchs w/ Nitto NT05 205/50-15, metal valve stems

Rear hubs drilled to 5 lug (early 70-72 embossed version), OEM Studs

FOR SALE: 1999 Civic Hatch with Type R B16B - $18k OBO

  
Golden age of V-TEC 

1999 DX Manual;  VIN  2HGEJ6348XH107101

Runs and drives like new. Not a project.. Rust free and a clean undercarriage. The Title is branded from a hail damage claim, but current SC title is normal.  Single stage British Racing Green. Engine bay, jams, and interior unpainted. Fenders are not rolled. Decent paint but not professional.

TE-37's wheels shown are gone and replaced with white Mugen NR's 15x6.5 ET45. Will update pics soon
